NEW Bible Study on the Book of JamesLiving by Faith through Times of Trial — James, the brother of Jesus, from our Lord’s earthly family, and the first bishop of the Church in Jerusalem, writes his epistle full of practical application and poignancy for the times in which we live.  James begins his epistle with these words:  “My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy.”  James writes to help Christians undergoing difficulty to find joy, and practical strategies to live a lives that shape them into the people God intends for them to be.  Here are just some of the themes that James addresses to the church in tumultuous times: spiritual battle, fellowship in the church, caring for those in need, developing an every-day Christian lifestyle, controlling our speech, healing of the sick, patience in suffering, praying in faith, equality, God as the gracious giver, wisdom, and more.
